Good: The Motorola SBG6782-AC Surfboard eXtreme offers high-end hardware components and good overall performance. The built-in support for MoCA is a useful extra.
Bad: The device is perhaps bulky enough to defeat the purpose of having a combo device, its Wi-Fi speed could use some improvement over long range, and the ridiculously lengthy name can be a headache during the modem setup process.
Bottom Line: If you're looking to upgrade your existing cable-Internet-based home network, or start anew, the Motorola SBG6782-AC is currently the most complete and advanced all-in-one modem-router combo you can get. Non-cable users need not apply. [Read more]

Good: BringGo offers offline maps and navigation with traffic data. Google Places search allows the app to pull the most recent destinations from the Web. When connected to certain Chevrolet cars, the app can provide in-dash navigation.
Bad: The BringGo interface can be confusing and poorly laid out. Importing addresses from Android 4.3's contacts did not work for me.
Bottom Line: BringGo navigation works well as inexpensive in-dash navigation for certain Chevrolet vehicles, but as a standalone navigation app, it's not a very good choice. [Read more]

Good: The Misfit Shine fitness tracker has a sharp design, a variety of wearable accessories, and lasts four months on a single battery: it's also waterproof and can be used for swimming.
Bad: Minimal design doesn't display detailed data on the device; currently only works with iOS; needs to be held close to phone screen to sync; currently closed app ecosystem.
Bottom Line: The Shine's one of the most stylish and futuristic-looking wireless fitness trackers out there, but you're trading in extra versatility for minimalist style. [Read more]

Good: The Divoom Bluetune Solo is a very compact wireless Bluetooth speaker that has a built-in rechargeable battery, offers relatively decent sound for its tiny size, has speakerphone capabilities, and both an audio input and an audio output, so it can double as a Bluetooth transceiver for your home stereo.
Bad: Distorts at higher volumes, particularly with bass-heavy material; no volume or transport controls on the speaker.
Bottom Line: As far tiny wireless wireless speakers go, the Divoom Bluetune Solo stacks up well against the competition, with an attractive design, good features, and relatively decent sound. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: With its diesel engine, the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI gets fuel economy in the high 30s. The attractive wagon body offers good utility, and it comes standard with a Bluetooth phone system and an array of digital audio sources.
Bad: The available navigation system lacks real-time traffic, and Volkswagen doesn't integrate any connected features into the cabin tech.
Bottom Line: With diesel fuel economy and its wagon format, the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI offers great utility, and adds a premium-car feel, but cabin electronics only cover the basics. [Read more]
