Good: Minutely's crowdsourced weather reports greatly enhance its standard forecasts. Submitting a report is dead-simple, and the app doesn't require you to register.
Bad: While the weather maps are neat, they load slowly and are difficult to control. Dynamic search results would be nice. The app needs more users to be considered reliable.
Bottom Line: While Minutely's crowdsourced weather data is certainly a brilliant idea, it still needs an updated interface and more users to be considered a go-to source for weather information. [Read more]

Good: The Kyocera Hydro XTRM is competitively priced, waterproof, and has 4G LTE capabilities.
Bad: The Hydro XTRM has poor call quality, takes mediocre pictures, and its internal speeds can be slow at times.
Bottom Line: If waterproof capabilities are an absolute must, consider the Kyocera Hydro XTRM. If not, skip this for some of the carrier's better alternatives. [Read more]

Good: The modestly priced Urge Basics Soundbrick has a simple, attractive design and a decent feature set that includes a built-in microphone for speakerphone calls. It also offers a little more bass than many speakers in this price class.
Bad: Flashing blue light on front of speaker will annoy some people; the speaker has some bass but it still sounds comparatively thin.
Bottom Line: While it doesn't do much to distinguish itself from the competition, the Urge Basics Soundbrick is a decent enough wireless Bluetooth speaker that has an attractively understated design and a built-in speakerphone. [Read more]
