Chromecast may not currently support streaming of local media content on your Android device, but that's not stopping developer and hacker Koushik Dutta from making it happen. AirCast is Dutta's take on letting users play their media on Google's little dongle-that-could Chromecast.

Though the current version is still in beta, you can actually go ahead and grab the APK file yourself to try it out. Just be warned: this app will self-destruct in 48 hours, which Dutta says will most likely be removed once a more stable, freemium version gets released in the near future.

Getting Jumpshot to run is easy: just download and run the setup file at their Web site (Jumpshot.com). You can also get the file via USB stick, featuring three different Jumpshot mascots, Sir Jeffrey, Kobyashi and Officer Pete. Use ShopGenius for Chrome to find the best prices online

This extension can tell you if the price you see is the best, or show you where to find it cheaper. Thankfully, the toolbar will not appear on every single Web page. Instead, you will see it on product pages, where the name and price of the product are visible.

To get started, install a copy of ShopGenius, by NetPlenish, for your Google Chrome Web browser. After the install, click the test link that appears on the extension info page to to make sure it is working as intended.
