Good: The Yamaha RX-V475 offered the best sound quality in our subjective AV receiver listening tests. Its feature set is also decent for the price, with five HDMI inputs (including an MHL-compatible input), built-in AirPlay and basic networking functionality via its Ethernet port.
Bad: Some similarly-priced receivers offer six HDMI inputs. The RX-V475 also has some confusing design choices, including an indecipherable remote and poorly laid out back panel. And the RX-V475's bulky design is hard to overlook when Marantz's NR1403 is nearly half the size.
Bottom Line: Yamaha's RX-V475 is great-sounding 5.1 receiver and a good value, although competitors offer better features and design. [Read more]

Good: After downloading, WhatsApp Messenger lets you text for free with other users of the app, regardless of platform. Neat customization tools, group chat features, and easy location adding are all cool additions.
Bad: You'll need to convince your friends to download the app.
Bottom Line: Though you only get a few extra useful features, WhatsApp Messenger is an excellent choice for sending free texts across platforms, even internationally. [Read more]
