Good: The TackForm Steady Clip Universal Mount's spring-loaded arm holds handsets as wide as 4 inches. The tacky gel suction cup holds tightly to most smooth surfaces.
Bad: The clip doesn't hold as tightly as other TackForm models do. The bigger clip takes up more space on the dashboard.
Bottom Line: The TackForm Steady Clip Universal Mount holds most phones securely in the car, but its large grip is best suited for massive phablets. [Read more]

Good: Cinemagram comes with a nice feature set that lets you customize footage with filters and different looping and speed options. And, of course, the cinemagraph effect is awesome.
Bad: This fairly young Android app exhibited some laggy and just plain bad performance. No option to record audio.
Bottom Line: If you just want to make some cinemagraphs, then this app is great at it. However, it does have some performance issues that could make sharing difficult. [Read more]

Nikon Coolpix A (Silver)

Good: The Nikon Coolpix A produces the excellent photos you'd expect from a large sensor, and the camera is well built with a streamlined, if somewhat point-and-shoot-like, design.
Bad: For the price, it needs to deliver a little more, such as a viewfinder; aspects of its performance could be better.
Bottom Line: If you're very picky about photo quality and prefer autofocus to manual -- but don't care about a viewfinder -- the Nikon Coolpix A is probably worth the money. Otherwise, wait for the price to drop. [Read more]

Good: The Fitbit Zip tracks steps, calories, and syncs with PCs and smartphones. It's affordable, water resistant, and links to Fitbit's powerful fitness analysis tools in the cloud.
Bad: Can't measure sleep; lacks a rechargeable battery; Android compatibility limited to Samsung Galaxy phones; easier to misplace than wristband models.
Bottom Line: The Fitbit Zip is the best fitness tracker you can buy for under $60. [Read more]

LookAway Player (iOS)

Good: LookAway Player gives you Smart Pause-like control of video on your iPhone before the feature is released on Samsung phones.
Bad: While the look-away feature works pretty well, LookAway Player's muting feature is less than satisfactory. It's also very limited as a YouTube browsing tool.
Bottom Line: LookAway Player's main feature works as advertised, but the muting features and limited YouTube browsing tools make it essentially a one-trick pony. [Read more]
