Good: The Asus FonePad has a smooth and durable aluminum build, a bright, responsive IPS screen, and expandable microSD storage. The phone option can be useful if you don't mind looking ridiculous, and its screen customization options are the deepest I've yet seen on a tablet.
Bad: Using a 7-inch tablet as a phone is awkward and looks absurd. Game performance is a bit sluggish, apps load slowly, the microSD/SIM compartment is difficult to open, and its cameras take washed-out dithered pictures and photos.
Bottom Line: The Asus FonePad performs well as a tablet and is a sound value, but think long and hard before deciding to use it as a phone. [Read more]

Good: Yahoo Weather for iOS elegantly displays your forecast along with extra weather information not found in the stock iPhone weather app. The interface is simple and shows great-looking Flickr photos for each location you add.
Bad: It requires an extra step to see the weekly forecast. The app sometimes crashes.
Bottom Line: With an elegant interface, weather information, and interactive maps, Yahoo Weather is a must-have for weather watchers everywhere. [Read more]

Good: Yahoo Mail performs smoothly and comes with most of your basic e-mailing needs. It even offers formatting tools that aren't available in other mobile mail clients.
Bad: Doesn't let you perform any actions (delete, star, or mark as unread, for instance) from the search results screen.
Bottom Line: Yahoo Mail is a reliable performer that makes it a snap to both read and fire off e-mails from your Yahoo account. [Read more]

Good: The Jabra Revo headphone has an excellent fit and finish, sounds quite good, is comfortable to wear, and folds up into a more compact form factor for storage. It also features an inline remote with a microphone for cell phone calls and an extra jack for "sharing" your music with another user.
Bad: The protective carrying case should be more luxurious at this price point.
Bottom Line: One of the better on-ear headphones, the Jabra Revo combines strong sound quality with superior comfort and design. [Read more]

Good: Great Stuff's RoboReel Portable Power Cord System makes managing 50 feet of heavy-gauge power cable a breeze with its automated two-speed retraction system. A number of safety features are built into this lightweight and flexible system.
Bad: High price point will deter many home handymen and -women.
Bottom Line: The RoboReel is one of the most advanced and manageable extension cords around, but this heavy-duty system comes with a heavy duty price. [Read more]

FX Photo Studio (iOS)

Good: FX Photo Studio has tons of effects organized into categories, with color-splash features to let you do more with your photos.
Bad: There is no live preview of effects as you select them. The workflow can get pretty confusing.
Bottom Line: FX Photo Studio stands out for the sheer number of effects that are available, but it can be a struggle to get the app to do what you want. [Read more]

Nikon D7100 (Body Only)

User Rating:
Good: The Nikon D7100 is a fast-shooting, well-designed camera that's comfortable to use.
Bad: While the image quality is quite good, it's not significantly better than that of the D7100's cheaper sibling, the D5200. And the lack of aperture control in movie mode gets a facepalm.
Bottom Line: While it's still a great prosumer dSLR, the D7100 may only be worth the extra cash if you need a faster Nikon right now. [Read more]

Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit

User Rating:
Good: The Kinivo BTC450 automatically reconnects to previously paired phones. It streams music wirelessly and supports hands-free phone calls.
Bad: With no internal battery, the Kinivo BTC450 only works when plugged into a car's 12-volt power point. It lacks a display or any internal voice command functions.
Bottom Line: The Kinivo BTC450 is a good and inexpensive choice for adding Bluetooth to cars with an auxiliary input, but it is short on features. [Read more]
