Good: The LG Lucid 2 comes free with a two-year contract, has wireless charging capabilities, and an optional user interface for Android beginners.
Bad: The Lucid 2's audio speaker has poor audio quality, its video camera picks up a low buzzing sound when recording, and you'll need to buy extra accessories to enable wireless charging.
Bottom Line: Though it has a few minor flaws, Verizon's Lucid 2's reliable performance and rock-bottom price will satisfy first-time smartphone users on a budget. [Read more]

Toshiba Satellite U845t

Good: The Toshiba Satellite U845t is thin, with a decent brushed-aluminum body, a 128GB SSD, and better performance and battery life than the competition.
Bad: The keyboard has squeezed-down keys, a small space bar, and some flex under heavy typing. The low screen resolution feels dated in a midsize laptop.
Bottom Line: While it's not going to dazzle anyone, the Toshiba Satellite U845t is a great example of exactly how much laptop $799 should buy in 2013. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: With an LCD speedometer, responsive user interface, and many driver-assistance features, the 2014 Kia Cadenza is a tech juggernaut. Solid dynamics and luxury cabin appointments make the Cadenza a pleasure to drive.
Bad: Although UVO eServices gives it some telematics features, there is no integration with popular apps. There is no perspective view for the navigation system.
Bottom Line: The large, premium 2014 Kia Cadenza sedan might seem pricey by Kia standards but compares well feature-by-feature with other premium makes. [Read more]

ContourRoam2 (Green)

User Rating:
Good: A very simple POV action cam, the Contour ContourRoam2 produces nice video; is waterproof without requiring a housing; includes a 4GB microSDHC card; and has a threaded tripod mount for more mounting options.
Bad: All changes to settings -- including shooting modes -- are done with desktop software, and the ContourRoam2 can't record 1080p video at a 170-degree angle of view. The rechargeable battery can't be removed or replaced by a user.
Bottom Line: As long as you don't need to change shooting modes on the go, the ContourRoam2 is a simple way to capture fine-quality POV videos in dry or wet conditions. [Read more]

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The GoGroove SmartMini Aux's small size makes it easy to fit unobtrusively in a car, and long battery life means low maintenance. It supports voice pass-through to a paired phone's native voice command feature.
Bad: The single-button interface, with different hold times activating different features, can be confusing to use, and there is no ability to skip songs when streaming music.
Bottom Line: For cars with an auxiliary input but no native Bluetooth, the GoGroove SmartMini Aux is an effective means of adding both hands-free call capability and audio streaming from a smartphone. [Read more]
