Posted: 05 Sep 2012 12:22 AM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The LG Motion 4G from MetroPCS is a prepaid, reasonably priced handset with Android 4.0 and a zippy dual-core CPU. Bad: The Motion 4G comes packed with a lot of bloatware, and its sound quality is mediocre. Bottom Line: MetroPCS' LG Motion 4G is worth it for price-conscious customers who want a contract-free 4G LTE-enabled device, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and a swift processor. [Read more] |
Scout by Telenav (version 1.2.0.63) Posted: 04 Sep 2012 11:13 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: Scout by Telenav gives easy and clear route guidance, which takes into account traffic. Voice command quickly and accurately finds business locations. Bad: To make Scout really useful requires the $9.99 in-app upgrade to Scout Plus. For route calculation the app needs to be online. Bottom Line: Scout offers enough features and good performance to make it a more than worthwhile competitor to the truly free apps available, and the in-app purchase price is very reasonable. Bad: The plastic body feels cheap, as do the ports flaps and small touch pad. Bottom Line: With the same CPU as you find in ultrabooks that cost a lot more, the Dell Inspiron 13z is a budget laptop that holds its head up high. [Read more] |
Posted: 04 Sep 2012 07:42 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The relatively affordable Sony EX640 offers deep-enough black levels for the money and commendable color saturation. The design is attractive and the menu system is easy to use. Bad: We detected a couple of uniformity issues, black areas can look blue under lights, and shadow detail isn't up there with the better TVs. The wireless dongle takes up a USB port. The SEN portion of the Smart TV interface is so slow that it's kind of a waste. Bottom Line: Sony's EX640 series is one of the better deals from the company, with decent picture quality and features for the price. [Read more] |
