Good: Map layers, turn-by-turn navigation, Street View, and offline access make Google Maps almost unbeatable.
Bad: No 3D city view.
Bottom Line: With its impressive list of features and syncing of data across other devices, Google Maps is a must-have application for anyone running Android. [Read more]

Logitech UE Smart Radio

User Rating:
Good: The Logitech UE Smart Radio has a built-in 6-hour battery and supports several high-profile streaming-audio services, including Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody, MOG, SiriusXM Internet Radio, Slacker, Last.fm, and TuneIn. Setup and navigation are much simpler than with previous Squeezebox products and the smartphone app has a slicker look. It also sounds great for its size, even though it's a mono speaker.
Bad: The UE Smart Radio is more expensive than many Bluetooth speakers and requires a Wi-Fi connection to work, which makes it somewhat less portable. You're also reliant on Logitech to add support for new streaming-music services, rather than simply using the app already on your phone. And hard-core Squeezebox fans will lament the loss of interoperability with existing Squeezebox products.
Bottom Line: The Logitech UE Smart Radio's great sound, built-in battery and solid list of streaming-audio services make it an attractive compact music system, but you may be better off with a Bluetooth speaker. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: Verizon's LG Intuition has 4G LTE, NFC capabilities, and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Bad: The Intuition may be unwieldy for some, its screen's 4:3 aspect ratio is unusual, and it can't store its stylus internally.
Bottom Line: The LG Intuition from Verizon is a reasonably priced, Android 4.0 'phablet,' but its specs can't compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note family. [Read more]

Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Keyboard

User Rating:
Good: An alternative take on the spacebar, a removable wrist rest, and Windows 8-specific hot keys give the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Keyboard a robust set of features for its price.
Bad: Mushy typing and an oversize spacebar make the Sculpt Comfort Keyboard feel imprecise and cumbersome.
Bottom Line: It's always worth reexamining technology features we take for granted, but even if you like Microsoft's new approach to the spacebar, the Sculpt Comfort Keyboard needs some streamlining before it merits a recommendation. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: Nitro Pro 8 is heavy on features, has impressive performance, and is easy to use.
Bad: Conversion to PowerPoint would be great, but that's being nitpicky.
Bottom Line: Nitro Pro 8 is a feature-packed PDF program with impressive performance and a dead-simple interface. And with its slim price tag, it is a fantastic option, even over the popular Adobe Acrobat. [Read more]

Apple iOS 6

User Rating:
Good: Apple's iOS 6 adds many features that we've long wanted. Existing apps are easier to use, and mapping and Siri take huge leaps forward.
Bad: Many of the new features are similar to what Android phones have had for a long time. Some features won't work on older devices and some popular third-party apps like Google Maps are no longer integrated.
Bottom Line: A couple of big features and a ton of tiny tweaks come together to make iOS 6 a must-have update, just as long as you can get it on your device. [Read more]
