Headcase Bottle Opener Phone Case for iPhone 4/iPhone 4S (black) Posted: 18 May 2012 11:52 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The affordable Headcase Bottle Opener Phone Case for iPhone 4/4S offers durable protection and two ways to open a bottle or can. You can choose among a range of colors and college logos. Bad: It's bulky and ungainly, and unless you're mighty thirsty, you're not going to need it 99 percent of the time. Although secure, the case is hard to remove. Enthusiastic can openers could splash liquid into the iPhone's headset jack. Bottom Line: With its protruding bottle opening mouth, the Headcase Bottle Opener Phone Case for iPhone 4/4S isn't for anyone seeking a low profile. It is, however, a usable tool for a very specific purpose. [Read more] |
LG Optimus Slider (Virgin Mobile) Posted: 18 May 2012 10:38 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The LG Optimus Slider has a spacious keyboard, little to no bloatware, and a responsive touch screen. Bad: The LG Optimus Slider is bulky, even as a slider phone. Camera quality is poor. Bottom Line: If you like a real keyboard on a no-contract, reasonably priced handset, the LG Optimus Slider is a good contender. Just remember its low specs and boxy build. [Read more] |
Maingear F131 (Core i7 3770K, May 2012) Posted: 18 May 2012 08:44 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Maingear F131 comes in an attractive, surprisingly roomy chassis, and it posted some of the fastest gaming performance to grace CNET Labs. Bad: The $3,000 price tag puts this desktop out of reach for all but the most enthusiastic PC gamers. Bottom Line: Maingear's new F131 hits all the notes I expect from a $3,000 system, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for high-end single-monitor PC gaming. [Read more] |
Posted: 18 May 2012 08:38 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Sony KDL-HX850 delivers excellent picture quality for an LCD, with deep blacks and plenty of detail in shadows. Blooming was minimal, and both uniformity and viewing angle were very good. The Gorilla Glass front adds both toughness and good looks. Bad: The HX850 is expensive compared with like-performing plasmas, and color tended somewhat toward blue. Bottom Line: The Sony HX850 is a smart-looking Smart TV with sparkling picture quality, making it a front-runner for plasma-phobic videophiles. [Read more] |

Posted: 18 May 2012 08:14 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The NZXT Cryo E40 adds movable fans to the usually bland world of laptop cooling desks. Bad: The smallish size means it's not good for big, hot desktop replacement laptops. The fans need to be positioned carefully to avoid rattling. Bottom Line: For under $30, the NZXT Cryo E40 provides efficient cooling through its movable fans, and its metal body makes it look like a more expensive accessory. [Read more] |
The House of Marley Bag of Rhythm Posted: 18 May 2012 08:13 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The House of Marley Bag of Rhythm has a unique design and plays loud for its size, offering good detail and tight bass. It's equipped with a snap-on carrying bag, an integrated iPod/iPhone dock, and has a battery option for mobile use. Bad: Fairly expensive; no wireless option (Bluetooth or otherwise); no rechargeable battery (must use six D-cell batteries for mobile use). Bottom Line: Although it's fairly pricey, the House of Marley Bag of Rhythm is a quality portable boom box that throws out a lot of sound for its size. [Read more] |
HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One Posted: 18 May 2012 07:42 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: Investing in the HP Photosmart 7510 multifunction printer opens the door to cloud printing and downloading apps straight to the color touch screen, at a reasonable price. Bad: There's no Ethernet port for a tethered wireless connection and the touch screen suffers intermittent precision issues. Bottom Line: The HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One boasts quick output speeds, multiple connectivity options, cloud printing, and a growing number of apps in the HP Web store, earning our recommendation to those hunting for a flexible imaging machine. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 (Silver) Posted: 18 May 2012 06:41 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX150 is a very fast, 10x zoom ultracompact with lots of automatic shooting options, and very good photo and video quality. Bad: The WX150's 18-megapixel resolution is of little use and its small, lightweight body can make it difficult to keep the zoom lens steady.
