Posted: 12 Jul 2012 11:49 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The iLuv iSP245 Mo'Beats Bluetooth speaker stand is sleekly designed and features a built-in rechargeable battery. It also accommodates a variety of tablets, plays fairly loud, includes a simple cloth carrying bag, and has a line input for connecting non-Bluetooth audio devices. Bad: Sounds thin; thick covers and cases need to be removed from iPads and phones in order to fit into the slot for the stand. Bottom Line: The iLuv iSP245 Mo'Beats Bluetooth mobile speaker stand boosts the volume of your iPad audio, but it doesn't sound as good as it looks. [Read more] |
Posted: 12 Jul 2012 09:52 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The HP Envy Sleekbook 6 has a great design for a great price, and includes Beats Audio and decent graphics. Bad: You're trading down to AMD's A-series processors, which are not as fast or power efficient as comparable Intel parts. Unlike actual ultrabooks, this doesn't have a solid-state hard drive. Some of the construction still feels a bit budget. Bottom Line: The ultrabook-like HP Envy Sleekbook 6 is the sharpest-looking $599 laptop you're likely to find, although you'll pay a performance premium. [Read more] |

Bad: DiskStation DS412+ comes with just one IP camera license, making it very expensive for a surveillance system, and it takes a relatively long time to generate thumbnails for photos. Bottom Line: Synology DiskStation DS412+ makes an excellent network-attached storage server for both advanced home and small-office networks. [Read more] |
Posted: 12 Jul 2012 07:12 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 has an appealing $350 price, its speakers are powerful, and it sports a comfortable design with an uncluttered Android 4.0 interface. Bad: The tablet misses the value mark with frequent app crashes, a low-resolution screen, stutter-filled movie performance, and only an average-quality camera. Bottom Line: The Lenovo IdeaTab S2109A has an appealing price, but it can't compete with similarly priced tablets in overall value. [Read more] |

Posted: 12 Jul 2012 03:16 AM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Meizu MX 4-core is attractive, compact, and flaunts an Apple-like aesthetic. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a fast quad-core CPU. The phone supports nine bands plus comes with 32GB of storage. Bad: The Meizu MX 4-core is meant for Chinese markets only. For $530, the unlocked handset is pricey. The Meizu's screen is dim and unimpressive. Bottom Line: The Meizu MX 4-core is a compelling iPhone clone, but there are much better unlocked Android handsets available. [Read more] |
