Good: The Yamaha YSP-1400 sound bar features the company's Digital Sound Projector technology that bounces sound off the walls in your room to create credible virtual surround sound. The system has built-in Bluetooth and an IR repeater, so it won't block your signals from your TV's remote control. There's also onboard decoding for both Dolby Digital and DTS. And its budget price is far below Yamaha's other Digital Sound Projector sound bars.
Bad: Getting a true surround sound signal to the YSP-1400 can be difficult. While it does sound more spacious than a standard sound bar, it doesn't match the true virtual surround magic of Yamaha's pricier sound bars. And the lack of an external subwoofer means bass won't be quite as deep or powerful as systems with a separate sub.
Bottom Line: Yamaha's YSP-1400 brings the company's Digital Sound Projector technology to a budget price point, but a couple of caveats keep it from being a standout sound bar. [Read more]

Good: The 2014 Lexus IS F's V-8 is a total hoot and pairs nicely with the eight-speed, close ratio automatic transmission. The dated tech holds up surprisingly well to modern standards.
Bad: Despite its advanced transmission, the engine is pretty old tech. Fuel economy will dip into the single digits, if you're not careful.
Bottom Line: The terrifically impractical 2014 Lexus IS F is the most un-Lexus model in the lineup, but it's an absolute thriller. [Read more]

HP Spectre 13t-h200 x2

Good: The HP Spectre 13 x2 converts into a large 13-inch tablet with a full 1080p display. The system is reasonably priced, and has a decent selection of ports on the keyboard base.
Bad: The combined hybrid body is awkwardly top-heavy, and the touch pad isn't sensitive enough for easy all-day use.
Bottom Line: A rare larger-screen hybrid, the HP Spectre x2 aims to be both a portable laptop and a video-friendly slate. The price is right, but the design feels awkward and the wonky touch pad makes it hard to use as a full-time laptop. [Read more]
