Good: The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 packs a sharp pixel-dense screen, zippy performance, and oodles of software features inside a comfortable and lightweight slate.
Bad: The $399.99 starting price is expensive. It's too easy to block the speakers and trigger the capacitive buttons unintentionally when holding the tablet in landscape orientation. Performance lags when using the multiwindow function.
Bottom Line: The premium specs and high-end feel of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 make it well worth the high price. [Read more]

Breathometer A01 Smartphone Breathalyzer

Good: The Breathometer's app interface makes it easy to start testing for blood-alcohol content. The color-coded graphic results also show at what time sobriety will be attained.
Bad: The design of the device allows for mistesting and germ-sharing. The app does not let you share results on social networks.
Bottom Line: The Breathometer makes for a fun party game and a potential way to meet people in bars, but its testing results should not be taken as proof of driver safety. [Read more]

Infinuvo Hovo 510

Good: The Infinuvo Hovo 510 surprised us with its cleaning performance, especially on hard surfaces where it earned some of the highest scores we've seen from any machine we've tested. Priced well below $300, it's an attractive value among pricey competitors.
Bad: The Hovo isn't as smart or innovative as some of the competition, and it can't handle pet hair. At all.
Bottom Line: If you have hardwood floors (and no pets), you'll likely be more than happy with just how well the Hovo performs. Just don't expect Roomba-level design or smarts. [Read more]

iDevices iGrill Mini

Good: The iGrill Mini is simple to set up on your iOS device. It lets you cook your food to temp without the bother of having to check on its progress manually.
Bad: iDevices claims that its probe has a 150-foot range via Bluetooth Smart, but I had connectivity issues at shorter distances. I wish it had a backup charger for those times when you don't have a CR2032 coin battery handy.
Bottom Line: The $39.99 iGrill Mini is a well-designed gadget that works. If you like the idea of hands-off cooking, this pint-sized probe is for you. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: Mad Skills Motocross 2 for iOS and Android is an improvement over the original with better graphics, customization options, and plenty of challenging 2D racing.
Bad: The benefits of bike upgrades are vague. The game no longer has the special moves from the original.
Bottom Line: With new tracks, better graphics, and new multiplayer action, Mad Skills Motocross 2 is a must have for racing game fans. [Read more]

Nintendo 3DS XL (Red)

User Rating:
Good: The Nintendo 3DS XL has a two big screens, tons of great games, feels sturdy, and is the most kid-friendly gaming platform currently available.
Bad: Battery life is fair but still not great; the graphics are starting to look dated compared to other game platforms, and the 3D is largely an aftertought; only one analog pad; downloaded game management still a huge headache.
Bottom Line: Three years in, the Nintendo 3DS handheld has become a seriously good game device -- especially for fans of Nintendo's classic gaming franchises -- and the XL is the one you should buy. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: Hand-made from thick leather and waxed canvas, the construction quality of the Pad & Quill Sleeve is top-notch. The interior is soft suede that won't scratch your precious MacBook.
Bad: Spending nearly $100 on a laptop sleeve, even a really nice one, is a stretch. The leather bookmark-style closure is a hassle to access quickly.
Bottom Line: Thickly padded, and handmade from premium materials, the Pad & Quill Sleeve for MacBook will fit your 13-inch Air or Pro and fills an important need if you don't want to use a dedicated, padded laptop bag. [Read more]
