Good: The Jawbone Mini Jambox is a tiny wireless speaker that's beautifully designed with a single aluminum enclosure. Nearly half the size of the original Jambox, it sounds better and plays slightly louder. And it has a built-in speakerphone and its voice prompts can be customized by connecting the speaker to your computer (the speaker's firmware can also be updated).
Bad: Fairly expensive; no protective cover or pouch included; it sounds good for its size, but it doesn't sound spectacular.
Bottom Line: While you'll pay a premium for it, the Jawbone Mini Jambox is the best-sounding and best-designed micro wireless speaker. [Read more]

Good: NBA 2K14 for iOS has good-looking graphics, plenty of game modes, and you can play as your favorite teams and players.
Bad: Announcers don't know the player names. Controls are simple and lack precision. Lack of plays or skill buttons make the games boring and one-dimensional.
Bottom Line: Sadly, NBA 2K14 is better left on consoles, offering only simple controls for iOS, poorly programmed announcers, and repetitive gameplay. [Read more]

ZTE MF60 Global Mobile Hotspot

User Rating:
Good: Telecom Square's Global Hotspot service delivers a wireless data connection in many countries around the world. The ZTE MF60 hot spots are compact, and the ordering process is easy. Customer service is available 24 hours a day.
Bad: The base price is for one-country use only. For more countries, rates are more expensive than competing services. You must pay for overnight shipping, and cheaper options aren't available.
Bottom Line: Telecom Square's Global Hotspot is a dependable and convenient way to access the Internet while traveling, but you'll need to be a heavy data user to make the service economical. [Read more]

Canon EOS 70D (with 18-135mm STM Lens)

Posted: 03 Oct 2013 08:19 PM PDT

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The Canon EOS 70D's new sensor delivers excellent autofocus performance and the camera itself is quite fast. It's design is reasonably streamlined and the feature set appropriately tailored to the target market as well.
Bad: The image quality doesn't overly impress for this price class, and certain aspects of the design -- notably single card slot, hard-to-control multicontroller and the Wi-Fi/movie mode conflict resolution -- are annoying.
Bottom Line: An overall excellent camera, but one that fails to capture the best-in-class prize for image quality. [Read more]
