If the Kardashians are America's first family, then Rob Kardashian is their golden boy. Since "Keeping up with the Kardashians" debuted in 2007 (just three and a half months after the iPhone!), millions have watched Rob grow from a 20-year-old college student in a relationship with ex-Cheetah girl Adrienne Bailon to a runner up on "Dancing with the Stars," and now a successful entrepreneur -- his Arthur George sock line is carried at Neiman Marcus stores, nationwide. On the flip side, we've also witnessed as he's publicly tackled weight gain, OCD, and insecurities around his sisters' successes.

However, with a lot of exciting projects in the works, including a men's clothing line and a new TV series, Rob may soon be on star par with sisters Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe and momager Kris.

Download.com caught up with Rob about texts from God, embarrassing snapchats, dating over apps, the social media comments that hurt most, and what he's learned (app-wise) from his sisters.

You recently tweeted a screenshot of your iPhone that read: "From God: I love you." What was that about? Well, I'm a pretty religious person, so I may as well have a positive influence, if I have the capability. I literally just sent myself a message that says, "From God." [laughs] Yeah, and I just did a screenshot of it from the lock screen... [Read more]

iPhone screen recording app slips onto the App Store

Posted: 22 Jul 2013 10:49 AM PDT

An iPhone application that allows users to record their screens, including screen activity while using third-party apps on your phone, has managed to sneak onto the App Store.

xRec, which was published on Saturday and costs $1.99 on (iTunes), can record screen activity in its entirety. The software requires an active Internet connection to work and, according to tech site Giga (Google Translate), uses code from jailbreak app RecordMyScreen, which offers a similar feature set and user interface.

The app shows a red, pulsing bar at the top of the screen when it's recording, something that cannot be removed. Users also can record audio at various quality levels with the app. You can save the captured data to your camera roll or send it to other installed apps.

Urchin Tracking Modules, or UTMs, are tracking tokens added to URLs. They are a tool used by Google Analytics to help calculate the unique number of clicks on a specific link, navigation choices on a Web site, and how much time is spent looking at it. The namesake comes from Urchin Software, a company Google acquired in 2005. Google Analytics borrows a great deal of its structure and features from Urchin 6.

To get started, you'll just need to install a copy of the respective add-on for your Web browser.

For Chrome:

Head to the Chrome Web Store entry for Tracking Token Stripper. Just as the name says, the UTM tokens will disappear from URLs you click on. After clicking Add to Chrome and pressing OK, make sure to open a new tab and close the old one to ensure that the extension is wo... [Read more]

Thanks to Samsung's wide range of products, the conference will focus on smartphones, televisions, tablets, and just about every other major Samsung product that comes with a screen.

Samsung has yet to say when registration will go live, but the company says it will happen later this summer.

Just a few days after Apple acquired transit and directions service Hopstop, the company's Windows Phone application has gone missing.

Hopstop for Windows Phone was available to users last week, but the application is no longer offered to Windows Phone users. In fact, a listing on the Windows Phone marketplace says that "this app is no longer published." No explanation has been given.

Still, it's not a leap to believe that Apple might have something to do with the disappearance. The company confirmed late last week that it has acquired Hopstop for an undisclosed sum. In many cases, Apple pulls down applications from other stores and determines how it wants to integrate those... [Read more]
