Good: The Sony MDR-V6 closed-back, full-size headphones sound great and are comfortable to wear for hours at a time. Their sound is also very well-balanced and crisp -- they sound great for the money.
Bad: With its coiled, pro-style cable and lack of an inline remote/microphone, some will find the V6s less mobile-friendly than more modern headphones.
Bottom Line: They may be close to 30 years old, but the comfortable fitting Sony MDR-V6s are arguably the best-sounding headphones for under $100. [Read more]

Good: Redbox Instant is great for managing your rentals, bookmarking movies you want to watch, and as long as you can find one, it's great for watching a movie instantly.
Bad: The Redbox Instant catalog is not nearly as large as Netflix's, which is already small compared with its rental catalog.
Bottom Line: The Redbox app is useful for renting movies and managing your account, but for streaming movies, Netflix has a bigger catalog. [Read more]

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (10.1-inch, white)

Good: The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 features a lightweight and compact design for a 10-inch tablet. Its screen is impressively bright, and a 64GB storage expansion option is always an appreciated extra.
Bad: The "hit-box" for the capacitive menu and back buttons is too large, and errant touches are common. Performance is slow when quickly switching apps and Wi-Fi speeds dramatically decrease the farther away from the router the tablet is. And $400 for a device with pre-2012 components is asking too much.
Bottom Line: The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is a sleekly designed tablet but, with more powerful and cheaper options available, it feels like more of the same, rather than an upgrade. [Read more]

Nokia Lumia 925

User Rating:
Good: Nokia's Lumia 925 has a sleek, slim, partially aluminum build. Its camera takes great shots, especially in low light conditions, and the LTE smartphone comes in at an affordable price.
Bad: The Lumia 925 is a little wide and squat, and sharp corners diminish handheld comfort. T-Mobile's version has 16GB of storage instead of 32GB.
Bottom Line: Nokia's lovely Lumia 925 delivers a high-end Windows Phone experience, but camera snobs with deep pockets should hold out for AT&T's Lumia 1020. [Read more]

Good: Netflix for Android gives you great-looking streaming movies and shows. Controls are smooth and performance is reliable.
Bad: The streaming library is only a fraction of the larger DVD library. You still can't add to or change your DVD queue via the app.
Bottom Line: If you don't mind the limited streaming library, Netflix offers great picture quality, smooth controls, and reliable performance. [Read more]

Good: The 2013 Lexus LS 600h L boasts nearly every tech, comfort, and luxury amenity at the automaker's disposal. The 5.0L Hybrid Synergy Drive is among the most powerful in its class without sacrificing efficiency. Multiple drive modes allow customization of the LS' performance and economy. The rear-seat comfort and tech of the Executive-Class Seating package are top-notch, boasting Blu-ray entertainment and a reclining massage seat.
Bad: The Remote Touch infotainment controller isn't as intuitive as the competitor's rotary knob controllers. HDMI input is not available for rear-seat entertainment.
Bottom Line: The ultraluxe 2013 Lexus LS 600h L impresses with power and amenities that are among the best in this class, but they come at a price many thousands of dollars more than you'd pay for its closest competitor. [Read more]

HTC Butterfly S

User Rating:
Good: The HTC Butterfly S boasts a 3,200mAh battery and a half day of uptime, a powerful processor, and a brilliant screen. Its camera performs well in low light, and a microSD card slot offers the option of adding more storage.
Bad: The glossy plastic materials of the HTC Butterfly S lead to lots of fingerprint smudges, and the phone isn't water-resistant like its predecessor.
Bottom Line: If a faster processor and bigger battery trump a sexy metal design, then choose the HTC Butterfly S, otherwise skip it for the HTC One. [Read more]
