Good: Outlook.com delivers unlimited storage, excellent in-box organizational tools, and complete SkyDrive integration. It doesn't serve personalized ads, and it's all wrapped up in an simple, user-friendly interface.
Bad: For now, there's no Skype or IMAP support, and the calendar app is limited and outdated. Customization options are few and the default social media integration settings are overwhelming,
Bottom Line: A wonderfully clean interface and strong features make Microsoft's Outlook.com a promising new player in e-mail, and a clear alternative to Google's Gmail. [Read more]

Good: Songza offers playlists that are perfect for just about any activity or mood you're in. It's free to download, and the ads are unobtrusive and easy to ignore.
Bad: There are no links to supplementary artist or track information.
Bottom Line: While you can still get playlists by genre, Songza's unique concept of assembling playlists according to your current activity makes it a great download for music lovers. [Read more]

Good: With frequent recharging, the 2013 Ford C-Max Energi gets fuel economy approaching 100 mpg. Sync offers excellent voice command and connectivity for personal electronics.
Bad: A wide turning radius makes maneuvering in tight spaces tough. The optional MyFord Touch interface reacts slowly to input.

Bad: The subscription gives you more features, such as on-demand music, but the pricing might keep people from taking the plunge. Ads in the free version are intrusive.
