Good: Metal Slug 2 is just as addicting as was its arcade predecessor. Controls are customizable, Autofire option is convenient, and Multiplayer works well.
Bad: Graphics look like they're straight from the '90s. Game is extremely demanding on device RAM. $3.99 price tag is steep.
Bottom Line: Whether you're a fan of the arcade original or you're new to the franchise, Metal Slug 2 is an addicting side-scrolling shooter that's worth its relatively high price. [Read more]

Good: The Toshiba SBX4250 is loaded with features, including built-in Bluetooth, two HDMI inputs, and two optical inputs. It also has onboard Dolby Digital decoding, which can be useful in a few cases. The included remote is nicely designed, with plenty of options for adjusting sound.
Bad: The SBX4250's sound quality is just average and its styling is pedestrian.
Bottom Line: Toshiba's SBX4250 is a sound bar with a good set of features at a decent price, but its sound quality and design are merely adequate. [Read more]

Good: The $39 Tenqa Remxd headphones are sturdy, offer good battery life, and are a decent value for Bluetooth headphones. You can also use the headphones as a wireless headset for making calls on your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone.
Bad: Headband won't fit smaller heads; can't charge the headphones with a standard Micro-USB charging cable; headphones don't fold flat.
Bottom Line: Despite their ho-hum design and sound, the relatively inexpensive Tenqa Remxd headphones are a good value for a Bluetooth model. [Read more]

Good: The Asus VivoTab Smart ME400 is as inexpensive as Atom Windows 8 tablets get, and the add-on keyboard/touch-pad combo is excellent.
Bad: The keyboard doesn't actually attach, which can be a hassle, and the folding magnetic cover takes practice to set up properly.
Bottom Line: In a sea of hard-to-distinguish Atom-powered Windows 8 tablets, the Asus VivoBook Smart ME400 stands out a bit thanks to clever accessories. [Read more]
