Good: The iHome iDM8 is a distinctly designed, affordably priced, compact Bluetooth speaker that sounds decent enough and plays reasonably loud. It also has a built-in rechargeable battery and an audio input cable for non-Bluetooth devices.
Bad: A little short on bass and detail; no protective carrying case included; a proprietary combo cable is needed for wired audio playback.
Bottom Line: The iHome iDM8 is a good portable Bluetooth speaker for the money; we just like its step-up brother, the DM11, a little better. [Read more]

Good: The Asus Eee PC 1025C Flare has amazing battery life, and is probably the least expensive Windows 7 laptop you'll find.
Bad: Just about everything else is substandard. A machine like this was acceptable a few years ago, but it just doesn't cut it in the post-iPad world.
Bottom Line: Asus brought Netbooks into the world, and with the last-gasp Eee PC 1025C Flare, it looks like it's going to take them out as well. [Read more]

Good: The Samsung Galaxy S II has a large, beautiful 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a great 8-megapixel camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 16GB built-in storage.
Bad: U.S. Cellular's Samsung Galaxy S II has a slower network. It's significantly pricier than other handsets in the carrier's lineup.
Bottom Line: With venerable specs, including a terrific camera and large, beautiful screen, the Samsung Galaxy S II is holding true to its claim to fame as the everyman's high-end Android phone. [Read more]

Canon PowerShot SX150 IS (red)

Good: The Canon PowerShot SX150 IS offers very good photo quality and features for its class, including semimanual and manual shooting modes, and it uses AA-size batteries.
Bad: The SX150 IS' shooting performance is miserable, as is its battery life, especially using alkaline batteries.
Bottom Line: If a long lens, AA batteries, and some creative control over your photos are what you're after, the Canon PowerShot SX150 IS is a good choice. That is, as long as you don't mind it being painfully slow. [Read more]
