Good: The compact and sturdy Elgato Thunderbolt SSD is the first bus-powered (no power adapter needed) Thunderbolt storage device. It offers very good performance.
Bad: The Elgato Thunderbolt SSD doesn't come with a Thunderbolt cable of its own and has just one Thunderbolt port. The drive is very expensive and caps at just 240GB.
Bottom Line: The Elgato Thunderbolt SSD offers speed and convenience for a very high premium. With limited storage and a very high price tag, the drive is only suitable for Thunderbolt-enabled Mac owners with deep pocket and a dire need for a high-speed storage device. [Read more]

Good: The iHome iDM8 is a distinctly designed, affordably priced, compact Bluetooth speaker that sounds decent enough and plays reasonably loud. It also has a built-in rechargeable battery and an audio input cable for non-Bluetooth devices.
Bad: A little short on bass and detail; no protective carrying case included; a proprietary combo cable is needed for wired audio playback.
Bottom Line: The iHome iDM8 is a good portable Bluetooth speaker for the money; we just like its step-up brother, the DM11, a little better. [Read more]
