Good: The affordable JBL Flip is a compact portable Bluetooth speaker that is designed to be used horizontally or vertically. It sounds good and plays loudly for its size, has speakerphone capabilities, and ships with a neoprene carrying case.
Bad: The unit is powered by a generic, somewhat bulky AC adapter instead of USB. Doesn't handle bass-heavy material incredibly well. Five-hour battery life is only OK.
Bottom Line: The JBL Flip's decent performance and attractive design make it a worthy Bluetooth speaker contender at $100. [Read more]

Good: The Epson WorkForce WF-3540 workhorse multifunction is built for performance with cloud printing capabilities, extra-large-capacity ink cartridges, dual 250-sheet paper trays, an intuitive touch-screen display, and an external USB port for standalone copying and scanning.
Bad: The 3.5-inch touch screen display works well with gesture navigation, but its fixed angle inhibits its usability in higher positions.
Bottom Line: Complete with wireless access, remote printing in the cloud, an interactive touch screen, and several paper trays, the Epson WorkForce WF-3540 is well-prepared to handle large workloads for home offices, corporate teams, and everything in between. [Read more]

Slingbox 500

Good: The Slingbox 500 streams video from your TV or DVR (or any analog source) to your PC, tablet, smartphone, and some streaming boxes at resolutions up to full 1080p HD. IR blasters are built into the box's body, eliminating the need for annoying extra external wires. There are no monthly charges or fees. Unlike the step-down Slingbox 350 model, this one adds Wi-Fi and HDMI support, as well as the ability to stream photos and videos from Android phones and iPhones.
Bad: At close to $300, it's fairly expensive. Smartphone- and tablet-viewing apps cost extra. It duplicates some of the features found on TV anywhere apps you may already be using. As always, streaming capabilities are only as good as your home bandwidth.
Bottom Line: While you'll pay a premium for its extra features, the Slingbox 500 is an excellent way to watch your TV or DVR video content anywhere. [Read more]

Good: Pudding Monsters has a polished interface, smooth and interactive animations, and supports eight languages.
Bad: So far, the game only has three multistage levels and its mushroom boost hints are pricey and unnecessary.
Bottom Line: Pudding Monsters offers a fun and quirky twist to the age-old concept of puzzle games, but until it gets more levels, opt for the free version. [Read more]

Good: The Vizio E701i-A3 is an outstanding value as the least expensive LED TV of its size that also offers Smart TV. Its picture boasts highly accurate color and very good bright-room performance. Plenty of Smart TV content is on hand within a responsive interface, and the QWERTY remote makes searches and other Smart TV actions easier. With its thin bezel, the set has a more compact, sleeker look than many competitors.
Bad: The E1i-A3's picture can't match the black-level performance of some competing LED TVs, and suffers from some uniformity issues. Its Smart TV interface design seems a bit dated and cumbersome.
Bottom Line: The Vizio E701i-A3 is the best value yet among 70-inch LED TVs. [Read more]
