Good: The official Gmail app for iOS from Google makes browsing your e-mail easier, with an improved interface, predictive text searching, and support for multiple accounts.
Bad: Having Gmail on your home screen means you'll be checking two e-mail apps throughout your day when the Apple Mail app already supports Gmail.
Bottom Line: If you prefer the Gmail experience when reading e-mail, the latest official Gmail app is a solid option with multiple account support, a better interface, and more features that bring the app closer to the Web-based client. [Read more]

Good: The Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE comes with Android 4.0, two cameras, and NFC for a great price. I love the dedicated camera button.
Bad: This Android smartphone is thick and heavy, and Sprint's 3G speeds are slow in unsupported LTE areas.
Bottom Line: The Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is a good Android choice, but for the same price, the LG Viper gives you greater camera power. [Read more]

Good: With fuel economy in the mid-40s, the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid stands among the top fuel sippers. The available Fender audio system delivers excellent sound quality.
Bad: The Jetta Hybrid commands a big premium over its non-electrified sibling. The available navigation system does not show traffic data.
Bottom Line: Volkswagen's new hybrid system in the 2013 Jetta is a winner, delivering good driving characteristics and excellent fuel economy, but its cabin tech lacks features for a car in this price range. [Read more]

Good: An external USB port on the Epson WorkForce WF-2540 gives standalone copying and scanning functionality on top of standard printing duties, and Epson's cloud printing suite adds remote printing capability.
Bad: The printer ships with small capacity "starter" ink cartridges, and the flimsy plastic hinge on the scanner doesn't inspire confidence in its long-term durability.
Bottom Line: Cloud access, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an external USB port in addition to the company's mobile printing app make the Epson WorkForce WF-2540 a good fit for smaller work-groups and start-ups with moderate printing needs. [Read more]
