Good: The Slive-88 has a compact, slim, and splash-proof design, and its manual crank is easy to use. It has a useful siren alarm and a USB port to charge your phone.
Bad: The Slive-88's minimalist design gives way for a confusing user experience. The LED light could be a bit bigger. Unfortunately, the Slive-88 is not currently available in the United States.
Bottom Line: With its lightweight frame and useful features, the Slive-88 is a good product to have on hand when the lights go out unexpectedly. [Read more]

Sony XBA NC85D - headphones

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The Sony XBA-NC85D noise-canceling in-ear headphones feature batteries conveniently built in to the earpieces that recharge with the included USB stick.
Bad: The build quality doesn't justify its ambitious price, and they fall short in sound quality and noise-canceling performance. Your music also dies when the battery runs out, and the tangle-prone wire lacks inline controls as well as a microphone.
Bottom Line: The Sony XBA-NC85D is marginally effective at canceling noise and its disappointing sound quality does nothing to offset the exorbitant price. [Read more]

Good: The Canon PowerShot Elph 520 HS is a good-looking camera that's remarkably compact for its 12x zoom lens.
Bad: The 520 HS' button layout takes some adjusting to, its battery life is relatively short, and its photo and movie quality are disappointing given the camera's price tag.
Bottom Line: The Canon PowerShot Elph 520 HS is a good choice for those already happy with their smartphone's photos and movie clips, but looking for a cute little camera with a long zoom and faster performance. [Read more]

Sony KDL-55HX750

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: The Sony HX750 offers excellent color accuracy for an LCD and will give a decent picture without too much calibration. The feature count is one of the highest of any Sony TV this year. Styling is subdued but elegant, and it's not all about looks, because it's also easy to use.
Bad: The overall picture quality is hampered by light black levels. No 3D glasses are included, which is disappointing for a high-level TV. Compared with the stiff competition, this Sony is too expensive for what you get.
Bottom Line: The Sony HX750 series isn't the headliner that you'd expect it to be with a performance that isn't up to the level of the asking price. [Read more]

Samsung NX200 (with 18-55mm lens , black)

Editor's Rating:
User Rating:
Good: With excellent photos for a sub-$1,000 model and a nicely designed user interface, the Samsung NX200 is a compelling option for image-first photographers.
Bad: For its price, the NX200 feels light on important features; it lacks an option for a viewfinder, and it cries out for an articulated LCD. And while its shooting performance is fine, in-camera operations like playback and changing settings can get held up by image processing.
Bottom Line: The Samsung NX200's photo quality stands out from the crowd, but its performance and features -- while good -- don't merit its relatively high price. [Read more]
