Posted: 20 Jun 2013 12:07 PM PDT If Courtney Love were an app, she'd be one that's potent, durable, and endlessly fascinating. It's been almost 20 years since Hole's fearless leader--the blonde rocker in the baby doll dress, always strapped to a guitar--body surfed her way into our hearts across such hits as "Miss World," "Doll Parts," "Violet," "Celebrity Skin," and "Malibu." TechTool Pro goes 64-bit, offering enhanced RAM testing Posted: 20 Jun 2013 10:50 AM PDT Software company Micromat, maker of the popular TechTool Pro diagnostics and repair utility, has come out with a new version of the program. TechTool Pro 7 has been rewritten in 64-bit code, which among general enhancements to the software makes it possible to better test memory on modern Mac systems. One of the key new features in TechTool Pro 7 is its new memory test routine, which is recommended for whenever a system is experiencing random crashes, or when you have installed new memory modules. While Apple's included hardware test suite is a robust option for testing memory, sometimes one test's approach may miss some error types, so it can be useful to have another on hand. Today, the ExploitShield technology gained a lot more visibility as it was acquired by security-software publisher Malwarebytes, whose Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software has been a Top 10 product on Download.com for many years. As a result of the purchase, Malwarebytes has released a new beta version of the software, now called Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. It is almost exactly the same program as ExploitShield (with new rebranding from Malwarebytes), so definitely read Seth's original coverage for more information about the "vulnerability-agnostic" software.
