Mozilla debuted a new Firefox for Android 23 beta (download) on Thursday that brought with it a flatter but more Web-friendly version of the familiar browser logo.

The new logo has been designed, wrote Sean Martell, Mozilla's Lead Visual Designer, with "SVG compatibility and color consistency" in mind. It doesn't ditch detail just for the sake of it, he said in his blog post about the change, but actually adds more detail in some areas.

One major detail he pointed out that has changed is the fox's arm. It now comes from its shoulder, instead of the middle of its chest like a disjointed orange tongue.

Superstar Seth Green is perhaps best known for his work on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," three "Austin Powers" films, "Party Monster," "Family Guy," and his Emmy Award-winning, stop-motion-animated series "Robot Chicken."

What many fans might not know is that Green, who will soon appear on-camera in the upcoming feature "The Identical," the upcoming miniseries "Delete," and on fall's Fox comedy series "Dads," is quite the pro behind the camera as well, as his online photo album demonstrates. Green opened up about his Hipstamatic obsession and expounded on 12 unique photo opportunities that made him go zoom.

Before Instagram, Hipstamatic was just a photo app and it allowed you to process the pictures that you took as if they were photographed under these specific conditions and circumstances, an... [Read more]

With IE11, Microsoft gets all touchy-feely

A look at Internet Explorer 11.

The latest version of Microsoft's browser, Internet Explorer 11, comes complete with a host of touch features designed for Windows 8.1.

In a blog post announcing the launch of the preview version of IE11, Microsoft focused much of its time on the "touch optimized" feature set available. The browser includes a "stick to your finger" feature that allows users to pan, zoom, and swipe around a Web site. That swipe feaoture can also be used for folks to go back to a previous page or forward to a previously viewed page. In addition, the browser includes touch hover menu support.

Touch-optimized features are a logical addition in Internet Explorer 11. An increasing number of people are adopting touch-based devices, like tablets, and have grown comfortable with swiping and panning around a page. The experience is far more intuitive than the typical ways and means of browsing.
