Posted: 06 May 2013 11:18 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Panasonic VT60 produces the best picture quality of any TV we've ever reviewed, equal to or better than our in-house Pioneer Kuro reference; exceedingly deep black levels and excellent shadow detail; well-saturated colors and excellent skin tones; industry-leading sound quality; extensive features including touch-pad remote, voice control, and onboard camera. Bad: Extremely expensive; forthcoming ZT60 might have even better picture quality; worse bright-room picture than that of the Samsung F8500; somewhat humdrum design; camera is limited, and facial recognition is a gimmick. Bottom Line: The Panasonic VT60 has one of the best pictures of any TV we've ever reviewed, but it's soon to face some tough competition. [Read more] |

Posted: 06 May 2013 02:00 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Fitbit Flex is a simple way to track steps, sleep, and calories. The Flex's strap design makes it light and comfortable to wear. It also offers handy Bluetooth syncing, and Fitbit's platform gives plenty ways to analyze your stats. Bad: Clasping the Fitbit Flex's strap shut is tricky. Direct syncing is only available with the iPhone, the Samsung GS3, and the Galaxy Note handsets. Bottom Line: A long list of features and a comfortable fit make Fitbit's new Flex the best fitness tracker you can buy. [Read more] |

Buffalo DriveStation DDR (2TB) Posted: 05 May 2013 01:00 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The USB 3.0-based single-volume Buffalo DriveStation DDR external hard drive offers unprecedentedly superfast speeds -- even faster than high-end Thunderbolt storage devices -- at the same cost as most regular USB 3.0 storage devices. Bad: As a single-volume drive, the Buffalo DriveStation DDR offers no options for data protection should its only internal hard drive fail. Bottom Line: The Buffalo DriveStation DDR is by far the fastest single-volume external drive on the market and makes USB 3.0 a true alternative storage connection to Thunderbolt. [Read more] |
