Good: CamRuler for iOS gives you fairly accurate measurements when you use it just right.
Bad: Poor interface controls get infuriating quickly. The lack of a back button means that if you make further adjustments, you're going to need to start over.
Bottom Line: CamRuler can work if you're willing to put in a lot of time on each measurement, but the interface for sizing and measuring is almost comically infuriating, making the current $1.99 price tag sting. [Read more]

Good: The Cube's intuitive touch screen, Wi-Fi print features, and smart, removable build platform provide some conveniences you won't find on other 3D printers.
Bad: Underpowered software, overpriced printing material, and overly locked down hardware hurt the Cube's appeal for consumers and hobbyists alike.
Bottom Line: 3D Systems has some useful ideas in its Cube 3D printer, but it sacrifices too many features in the name of accessibility. [Read more]

Good: The Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 has very good features, performance, and battery life for its price and is very thin and very light.
Bad: Typically for an ultrabook, the Z935-P300's battery and memory are not user-replaceable. Its keyboard may be small for some users.
Bottom Line: The Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 is an excellent ultrabook value if you can overlook its few design shortcomings. [Read more]

Good: Chart, Statistics, and satellite playback offer a variety of ways to analyze your tracks on My Tracks. The capability to pause recordings was a huge addition.
Bad: Unattractive interface. Timer starts even without GPS signal established.
Bottom Line: Athletes may be able to find more features in other training-specific apps, but My Tracks works well as a multipurpose GPS tracker. [Read more]

NBA 2K13 (iOS)

Good: NBA 2K13 for iOS has good-looking graphics and animations. It works well when you want to play a quick game with your favorite team.
Bad: The control system is severely lacking on the touch screen. The game lags and hiccups on the iPhone 5. Jordan's historic 63-point game is set in Chicago, when it was actually in Boston.
Bottom Line: NBA 2K13 is the best arcade 5-on-5 basketball game on a smartphone, and it looks pretty good. But bad controls, graphical glitches, and several other issues make the $7.99 price tag way too high. [Read more]
