Good: The SuperTooth Crystal in-car Bluetooth speakerphone features quality construction with a metal faceplate and a snappy magnetic mounting clip. The Crystal can display its battery level on a paired iPhone's status bar. Simple pairing eliminates the need for a PIN and multipoint allows two phones to be simultaneously connected.
Bad: The placement of the USB charging port means the device can't be charged while it's mounted.
Bottom Line: The SuperTooth Crystal is a simple Bluetooth car speakerphone, relying largely on your smartphone to do the heavy lifting, but it has a few tricks up its sleeve to make it easy to live with. [Read more]

Good: T-Mobile Prism has a competitive price, decent call quality, and solid data speeds.
Bad: The Prism's camera quality is poor, the screen has a low resolution, and its processor is sluggish.
Bottom Line: If you're looking for your first 3G smartphone, the T-Mobile Prism will deliver basic calling, texting, and Web-browsing requirements all for $20. Just don't expect blazing speeds or great photos. [Read more]

Good: The Tech21 Impact Band adds a strong layer of protection to your iPhone without adding too much bulk. It feels great in your hand and it looks good, too.
Bad: It was difficult to press the iPhone's volume controls through the Impact Band. The hole for the wired headset could be bigger.
Bottom Line: It's not cheap, but the Tech21 Impact Band provides solid protection for your iPhone while showing a welcome bit of innovation. [Read more]

Good: The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 offers most of the capabilities of Samsung's popular Android smartphones, minus the phone and monthly fees.
Bad: Both the software and the processor are relatively old by smartphone standards. Parents should know there are no safeguards included to restrict access to age-inappropriate content.
Bottom Line: When it comes to competing with Apple's iPod Touch media player, the Galaxy Player 4.2 is Samsung's best effort yet, but it's still playing catch-up. [Read more]

Good: The GE E1410SW puts a wide-angle 10x zoom lens in an ultracompact package for an affordable price. It also has some nice extra shooting features you'd find on more expensive cameras in its class.
Bad: The E1410SW isn't great for low-light or indoor shooting. Its flash turns on automatically every time you start the camera or change shooting modes, which slows performance. Battery life is relatively short.
Bottom Line: While not without its share of photo and performance issues, the GE E1410SW is a fine ultracompact megazoom snapshooter for those on a budget. [Read more]

2012 BMW X5 xDrive35i

User Rating:
Good: The 2012 BMW X5 xDrive35i integrates with Google local search and social-networking apps. The navigation system shows very rich detail in its maps. Its all-wheel-drive system adds various road-holding technologies to aid handling, such as corner braking and BMW's own version of torque vectoring.
Bad: Fuel economy is only average, primarily due to the X5's heavy curb weight. Some aspects of the onscreen interface remain confusing.
Bottom Line: The 2012 BMW X5 xDrive35i emphasizes onroad handling in the most high-tech SUV available, although it hasn't conquered the curse of mediocre SUV fuel economy. [Read more]

Lenovo ThinkPad X230

User Rating:
Good: The Lenovo ThinkPad X230 fits a full-power third-gen Intel Core i5 processor in a 12.5-inch 3-pounder, and has great battery life and an improved keyboard.
Bad: A bulky, throwback design, tiny touch pad, and a high price tag throw off the equation.
Bottom Line: There may not be a better full-fledged business ultraportable than the ThinkPad X230, but more efficient, less expensive, and thinner ultrabooks are the real future of this category. [Read more]
