Good: The Grado SR80i headphones offer incredibly balanced, hi-fi-quality sound. One of the best models available for under $100.
Bad: The design is quite polarizing with a very retro look. The open earcups mean they're not suited to use in noisy environments or places where sound leakage might disturb others. If you own the original SR80 headphones, it's not worth the upgrade.
Bottom Line: The Grado SR80i headphones are a great budget pair that offer sparkling sound with tight bass and are best suited to home use. [Read more]

Good: A faster processor, improved graphics, and USB 3.0 highlight a series of internal improvements in the new 15-inch MacBook Pro.
Bad: The unchanged design is starting to feel a little dated. Any real structural changes, HDMI, higher-res displays, were reserved for the Retina display version of the MacBook Pro.
Bottom Line: Another year of incremental improvements for the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro help it maintain its lead as a useful, powerful, attractive midsize laptop, but the competition is closer than ever to catching up. [Read more]

Good: The D-Link DIR-857 HD Media Router 3000 offers stellar Wi-Fi performance on the 5GHz frequency band and a nice set of useful features. The router is easy to use and has an effective QoS feature to help fuel HD media streaming, gaming, and VoIP.
Bad: The D-Link DIR-857 doesn't offer 802.11ac and its performance on the 2.4GHz band is lacking. The router's built-in network storage performance doesn't come close to the speed of USB 3.0.
Bottom Line: Though not perfect, the D-Link DIR-857 HD Media Router 3000 makes a great router for homes thanks to its top-notch performance on the 5GHz band and a nice set of features. [Read more]

Good: The Tenba Mini Photo/Laptop Messenger Bag is a compact, well-designed, and attractive bag that can hold a surprising amount of equipment.
Bad: There are some odd omissions, such as there being no place for a large keychain, and the nylon exterior attracts a lot of schmutz.
Bottom Line: Smaller and lighter than a typical messenger bag but still able to hold a pro dSLR body, a flash, a couple of small lenses, and a 13-inch laptop, the Tenba Mini Photo/Laptop Messenger Bag is one of the best-designed bags we've seen. [Read more]
