Good: Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system brings Pandora Internet Radio, Stitcher, Bluetooth audio, and USB/iPod connectivity to the dashboard of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco. An optional Pioneer audio system features good power and staging. The standard OnStar connection adds safety and convenience.
Bad: The Malibu's cabin rattles a bit when the Pioneer audio system gets bassy. Observed fuel economy was disappointing. Acceleration and braking were inconsistent and not confidence-inspiring. Users must choose between navigation and the MyLink system.
Bottom Line: The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco is a competent highway cruiser with a good baseline of cabin tech, but its eAssist mild-hybrid system doesn't really deliver the miles per gallon. [Read more]

Good: The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover has a slim design, fits perfectly onto the iPad 2 and third-generation iPad via magnets, and works extremely well as a keyboard.
Bad: The plastic-and-aluminum keyboard isn't really a case, and doesn't protect the back of the iPad.
Bottom Line: Logitech's Ultrathin Keyboard Cover might be the best keyboard accessory ever made for the iPad, if you're looking for a highly portable and functional keyboard that travels light; just make sure you carry a separate protective case. [Read more]

Good: The integrated light in the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch GlowLight displays uniformly across the high-contrast Pearl e-ink touch screen and is a killer feature for nighttime reading for couples who share a bed. The touch screen is ever so slightly more responsive, there's built-in Wi-Fi for direct access to the online Barnes & Noble store, an expansion slot for additional memory, and long battery life. The Nook supports e-book lending and EPUB loans from libraries, has no ads, and it offers some enhanced social networking features.
Bad: Like the Nook Simple Touch, this model has no support for audio, no 3G option, and no Web browser. The rubberized finish on the back of the device attracts fingerprints.
Bottom Line: The Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight sets the standard for e-ink e-readers going forward and is well worth the extra money if you do a lot of nighttime reading. [Read more]

Good: A unique collaboration of matte rubber, memory foam, and micro-fleece materials snag the Incase Sonic over-ear headphones extra points for comfort and durability, while the 40mm driver sharpens acoustics with impressive detail.
Bad: Space-conscious travelers might lament the lack of a folding headband.
Bottom Line: The Incase Sonic headphones are a standout first effort for Incase. Their elongated earcups and memory foam lend a supremely comfortable fit, and the powerful titanium drivers inside add sweetness to their sound that earns them a universal recommendation for all types of music fans. Good: With big buttons, an easy-to-understand interface, and limited shooting options, the Nikon Coolpix S30 is a family-friendly waterproof and shockproof point-and-shoot.
Bad: The S30 is not a camera you want to use indoors or in low-light conditions.
Bottom Line: The rugged Nikon Coolpix S30 is a simple, inexpensive point-and-shoot to keep poolside, and doesn't try to be anything more. [Read more]

Samsung Galaxy S Aviator (U.S. Cellular)

User Rating:
Good: The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator boasts a vibrant screen, a solid 8-megapixel camera, and an attractive build quality.
Bad: While the Aviator is US Cellular's first 4G LTE handset, we couldn't test its 4G skills since the carrier's LTE network is limited to just a few locations. The phone also runs a slow single-core CPU.
Bottom Line: With the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator, US Cellular gains another Android smartphone option. Unfortunately, the carrier's limited 4G LTE access and the weak single-core CPU weigh down an otherwise high-flying handset. [Read more]

2012 Toyota Prius C

User Rating:
Good: The 2012 Toyota Prius C's hybrid power train easily achieves fuel economy of better than 50 mpg. The connected Entune system gives access to online search, weather, and gas prices. The car's Eco Score screen encourages economical driving.
Bad: The car's touch screen is prone to bad glare with a minimal amount of sunlight, and too many warning screens pop up when you try to use Entune.
Bottom Line: As the latest member of the Prius family, the 2012 Toyota Prius C shows off a very modern, high-tech cabin, along with excellent fuel economy, in a size city dwellers will find easy to park. [Read more]
