Posted: 06 Mar 2014 01:03 AM PST Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Narrative Clip has a small, simple design and works automatically; the app works with iOS and Android. Bad: Camera placement often yields poorly framed or otherwise useless photos; Narrative's photo-uploading service costs extra; the Clip won't sync directly with your phone; it only takes still images; Narrative phone app feels too pared-down to be helpful. Bottom Line: The Narrative Clip camera attempts to be your always-on wearable way to record photographic memories, but it lacks the flexibility, affordability, and camera quality to meet its promise. Dyson AM06 Air Multiplier Desk Fan 10" (Blue) Posted: 06 Mar 2014 12:47 AM PST Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: With a quieter, more efficient design that sacrifices none of the original's unique appeal, the Dyson AM06 is about as luxurious as desk fans get. Bad: At $299, it's as expensive as desk fans get, too --- by quite a bit. Also, with no controls on the unit aside from the on/off button, you'd better hope you don't lose the remote. Bottom Line: The AM06 is an impressive spectacle to behold -- but it's still just a desk fan. For such an expensive device, we wish that it doubled as a space heater, like Dyson's AM05, or featured a more noticeable bump in performance. It doesn't, and that makes it difficult to recommend. Posted: 06 Mar 2014 12:42 AM PST Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: Check organizes all of your bills from multiple companies in one place, so you can pay them quickly. Bad: You have to plan to make a payment at least four days in advance to avoid fees. Bottom Line: Check is a convenient way to pay your bills on your phone, but only if you remember to send your payments in early. [Read more] |
Kirabook 13-i7s-touch Ultrabook Posted: 05 Mar 2014 11:52 PM PST Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The slim, lightweight Toshiba Kirabook still feels very premium, and it deserves credit for being one of the first Windows laptops to feature a better-than-HD display. Thanks to an updated CPU, battery life is now good enough for all-day use. Bad: Higher-res screens are more common now, and available for less. The generic brushed-metal look isn't particularly distinctive given the price. Bottom Line: The design of Toshiba's high-end Kirabook hasn't changed since last year, but it has aged gracefully. The components get an update and the battery life gets a big boost, making this a all-around excellent, but expensive, ultrabook. [Read more] |
