Posted: 30 Sep 2011 09:46 AM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: HP's new TouchSmart 520xt has a reasonable selection of up-to-date features, including USB 3.0 and HDMI input. Bad: Touch all-in-ones from competing vendors, and from HP itself, offer similar or better performance at lower prices. Bottom Line: An off-kilter value equation makes it hard for us to recommend the otherwise serviceable HP TouchSmart 520xt. [Read more] |
Posted: 27 Sep 2011 11:37 AM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Logitech Harmony Link lets you control all your home theater gear using an app available for iOS and Android. There's also an iPad-optimized app that lets you view TV listings, with large colorful tiles. The Harmony Link adopts many of the best features of the standard Harmony remotes, including an easy Web-based setup process and activity-based commands like "Watch TV." Bad: Though you can browse TV listings 24 hours in the future, you can't directly record them from the Harmony Link app. The use of the touch interface also forces you to constantly look between your TV and the app, unlike a remote with physical buttons you can feel. The Harmony Link also lacks Bluetooth support, so it can't directly control the PS3. Bottom Line: Logitech's Harmony Link lets you use your iPad, iPhone, or Android phone as a remote control, but touch-screen limitations and the iPad app's limited TV listings mean you're better off with a standard Harmony remote. Posted: 27 Sep 2011 11:32 AM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The 2012 Nissan Altma 2.5S is available with one of the best CVTs in the business that is well-matched to the 2.5-liter engine. Navigation with traffic, iPod/USB connectivity, and Bluetooth for calling and audio are available as parts of various packages. Bad: The optional Bluetooth calling system is fairly basic in its operation. Going all-in on the tech and options can get as pricey, rivaling even some V-6 equipped competitors. Bottom Line: The 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5S provides good acceleration, thanks in part to its transmission tech, and handling that, while not sporty, is capable and predictable. [Read more] |
Posted: 31 Aug 2011 05:00 AM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Samsung Galaxy S II boasts a beautiful display and a thin design. With a dual-core processor, the Gingerbread device delivers fast performance, as well as good battery life. Camera quality is excellent. Bad: Some parts of the phone feel flimsy. Bottom Line: With its dual-core processor, vibrant display, and great performance, the sleek and powerful Samsung Galaxy S II rises as AT&T's top Android smartphone. [Read more] |
Posted: 06 Jan 2011 10:29 AM PST Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has a slim, gorgeous build, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and 720p HD video capture. Bad: Several buttons on the Xperia Arc are too small, and the unlocked price would be a prohibitively expense for most. Call quality was mediocre. Bottom Line: The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is a beautiful handset with some great features, but a high price tag and no network optimization leave few reasons to buy this unlocked Android phone.
