Good: With boutique design, remote monitoring via mobile device, and the ability to wave off false alarms with your hand, the Nest Protect is the smoke/CO detector we never knew we wanted.
Bad: $129 is a lot to ask for a smoke/CO detector, even a connected one.
Bottom Line: Nest brings crisp design and smart features -- connected and otherwise -- to the humble smoke detector. You don't absolutely need the Nest Protect, but it's fine to admit you want one. [Read more]

Bottom Line: Though the ScanSnap is well-built and easy to use, it's not worth its premium price. [Read more]

Good: The Moga Ace Power adds dual analog sticks and tons of buttons, doubles as a battery charger, and works with hundreds of games right out of the box.
Bad: A plastic feel, awkward lock/unlock mechanism for inserting an iPhone, wobbly D-pad, and a long, slightly bulky design; only works with Lightning connector, so older iPhones and iPods are excluded.
Bottom Line: The Moga Ace Power successfully turns an iOS 7-equipped iPhone into a full-fledged gaming handheld, and adds enough buttons to cover all bases when more games arrive to work with it. [Read more]
