Good: The Tiffen Steadicam Smoothee for iPhone 4 is an effective way to get smoother video while moving. It's also well-designed and well-built.
Bad: The Smoothee takes some practice to use well and for the average iPhone user, the size and cost might be overkill.
Bottom Line: True to its name, the Tiffen Steadicam Smoothee takes the bounce out of your iPhone video clips. [Read more]

Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch, Summer 2012)

Good: The new 13-inch MacBook Pro has a faster third-gen Intel Core i5 processor, and USB 3.0 ports.
Bad: Not much else has changed: the price, battery life, and older, thicker appearance, however well designed, remain the same.
Bottom Line: While the 13-inch MacBook Pro remains a well-built laptop, it's fallen behind the MacBook Air and Retina Display MacBook Pro in design, lacks higher-end upgrades, and feels too expensive compared with the competition. [Read more]

Panasonic TC-P55GT50

Good: The Panasonic TC-PGT50 series exhibited outstanding overall picture quality, characterized by exceedingly deep black levels with great shadow detail, accurate colors, and solid bright-room performance. Unlike LCDs, as a plasma it has superb off-angle and uniformity characteristics. The high-end styling outclasses just about every other TV I've seen. The feature set is well-chosen, including excellent onscreen help options.
Bad: The GT50 isn't as strong a value as some competing plasmas. It uses more power than LCD TVs, and doesn't perform as well in bright rooms as those with matte screens. It doesn't come with 3D glasses. The GT50 is only available in 50-inch and larger sizes.
Bottom Line: Superb picture quality and beautiful design place the Panasonic GT50 in the top tier of plasma TVs, but it's more expensive than others with similar performance. [Read more]

2012 Hyundai Azera

Good: The spacious 2012 Hyundai Azera offers navigation, traffic, a full array of digital audio sources, and a great telematics system as standard features. That's before you get to the massive sunroof and Infinity premium audio system. The V-6 power-train is smooth and the handling is comfortable and confidence inspiring.
Bad: Voice command must be taken step-by-step and has gotten more complex for this generation.
Bottom Line: The big, comfortable 2012 Hyundai Azera packs more standard tech and amenities than many of its "fully loaded" competitors. [Read more]

Origin Eon 11-S (Core i7-3612QM)

User Rating:
Good: The Origin Eon 11-S is highly configurable, reasonably portable, and great for gaming if you can't fit a huge desktop replacement laptop.
Bad: The generic body doesn't feel very high-end; don't expect to come in anywhere close to the $999 starting price for a serious gaming laptop.
Bottom Line: As one of the only 11-inch gaming laptops around, the Origin Eon 11-S is aimed at a select niche, but if you need a supersmall gaming laptop, it fits the bill nicely. [Read more]

Denon AVR-1913

User Rating:
Good: The Denon AVR-1913 has a good set of features, with six HDMI inputs, built-in AirPlay, an iOS/Android app, DLNA compatibility, and built-in streaming audio services like Pandora, Sirius, and Internet radio. The included remote is best-in-class and the user interface is easy to navigate. And like last year's model, the AVR-1913 has excellent sound quality.
Bad: The Denon AVR-1913 is relatively expensive, especially since it lacks a standout feature to distinguish itself from competitors. It doesn't have built-in Wi-Fi or an affordable Wi-Fi dongle. Denon's step-down AVR-1713 will be a better buy for most people, who don't need 7.1 channels or analog video upconversion.
Bottom Line: The Denon AVR-1913 has a solid set of features and excellent sound quality, but competing AV receivers offer better value. [Read more]

2012 Ford Fiesta

User Rating:
Good: Sync in the 2012 Ford Fiesta offers voice command over music and Bluetooth phones, along with smartphone app integration. The Fiesta's rigid suspension makes the car feel very maneuverable.
Bad: The ride can feel a little harsh, and the engine makes a tortured whine at high rpms. Onboard navigation is not available.
Bottom Line: Sync and AppLink give the 2012 Ford Fiesta an impressive techie edge, while the body design and decent fuel economy lend to overall practicality, but the car does not punch above its class in comfort. [Read more]
