Good: The Nexus 7's quad-core Tegra 3 processor delivers fast performance and a beautiful and responsive screen. Also, it's comfortable to hold and Android 4.1 brings a surplus of welcome additions. At only $200, the Nexus 7 is a steal.
Bad: It's disappointing that the Nexus 7 doesn't have expandable memory or a back camera, and the design follows the plain, black tablet mold, with uselessly thick top and bottom bezels.
Bottom Line: With a beautiful screen, fast performance, a comfortable design, and overall great media options, the Nexus 7 is easily the best 7-inch tablet available and one of the top tablets on the market. [Read more]

Google Nexus Q

User Rating:
Good: The Google Nexus Q features a truly unique, spherical design with glowing LEDs that respond to music that's playing. It streams content directly from Google Play Music, Google Play TV & Movies, and YouTube, using an Android phone or tablet as the controller. There's also a built-in 25-watt amp that can be used to power speakers.
Bad: The Nexus Q is very expensive and doesn't stream from any non-Google services like Netflix, Pandora, Spotify, MLB.TV, or Amazon Instant, nor can it stream content from your own PC or DLNA server. It also requires an Android smartphone or tablet to control it, as it doesn't include a remote or its own user interface.
Bottom Line: The Nexus Q's striking, orblike hardware can't outweigh the extreme limitations of this Android-only, Google-only media streamer. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: Installing the PLX Kiwi Bluetooth is as simple as plugging in a cable. The device supplies vehicle diagnostic information to many free and paid Android apps.
Bad: Users must supply their own mounting and cable management hardware (zip-ties, double-sided tape).
Bottom Line: At less than half what you'd expect to pay for a standalone device, the PLX Kiwi Bluetooth is a great OBD monitoring solution for the Android smartphone-toting car geek. [Read more]

LG Optimus L7 (unlocked)

User Rating:
Good: The svelte LG Optimus L7 runs the latest version of the Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, and has NFC capabilities like Android Beam.
Bad: The L7's output speaker quality is poor and its 1GHz processor makes for slow and choppy performance.
Bottom Line: The Optimus L7 is a good midlevel Android device that features some of the latest technology in the market, but only if you're patient enough to live with its pokey processor. [Read more]

Good: With its hybrid gas-electric power train, the 2013 Lexus GS 450h reliably averages 30 mpg. Its adaptive suspension gives it unexpectedly good cornering. The Enform system brings in apps such as Facebook, Yelp, OpenTable, and Bing search.
Bad: The joystick controller on the console feels plasticky, and it is difficult to accurately control the onscreen pointer.
Bottom Line: The 2013 Lexus GS 450h is a tech tour de force, getting outrageously good fuel economy for this class of car with its hybrid drive system, and giving drivers the convenience of popular apps integrated with the cabin electronics. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: The Shure SRH1440s may be a large, full-size set of headphones, but its lightweight design and gentle earpad pressure make for an extra comfortable fit that fits nicely with its audiophile-endorsed sound.
Bad: The SRH1440s are large and don't fold flat, limiting their usability for traveling listeners.

Samsung Galaxy S III - 32GB - blue (Sprint)

User Rating:
Good: The Samsung Galaxy S III (S3) comes fully loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4G LTE capability, a zippy dual-core processor, and a strong 8-megapixel camera. S Beam is an excellent software enhancement, and the handset's price is right.
Bad: The Galaxy S3's screen is too dim, and Samsung's Siri competitor, S Voice, disappointed. Until Sprint's LTE launch, data speeds drag on the carrier's 3G network.
Bottom Line: Pumped with high-performing hardware and creative software features, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an excellent, top-end phone that's neck and neck with the HTC One X. Unfortunately, it only runs on Sprint's 3G network for now. [Read more]
