Posted: 22 Mar 2013 12:00 AM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: Drive Select sets many systems in the 2013 Audi S7 between Comfort and Dynamic. The engine produces an impressive amount of power, and Quattro all-wheel-drive improves handling. A data connection powers Google Earth maps in the navigation system. Bad: The air suspension is not as capable as magnetic dampers would have been for sport driving. The S7 does not integrate Internet-based music apps or social media. Bottom Line: The 2013 Audi S7 features a phenomenal amount of tech both in the cabin and under the hood. An impressive sport driver, its fuel economy remains decent enough for a daily commute. LG Optimus Regard (Cricket Wireless) Posted: 21 Mar 2013 09:41 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The LG Optimus Regard brings a straightforward design, LTE support, and enjoyable call quality for a great value. Bad: The Optimus Regard's poor photo quality diminished the appeal of its tricked-out camera. Speakerphone audio is distorted at all volume levels, 3G data speeds are slow, and there are no dedicated camera controls. Bottom Line: Cricket's LG Optimus Regard is an excellent choice as an entry-level Android phone, but look elsewhere if you care about photo quality or don't have adequate 4G coverage. [Read more] |
Posted: 21 Mar 2013 09:12 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: Compact wireless Bluetooth speaker; attractive design with swappable speaker grilles for easy color changes; includes carrying pouch; built-in speaker phone for cell phone calls; supports the AptX audio codec. Bad: Not a good deal at its list price of $199.99; battery life isn't as good as the Jawbone Jambox's. Bottom Line: The Monster ClarityHD Micro is a very good little Bluetooth speaker, but it's only worth buying if you can get it for less than $125. [Read more] |
Posted: 21 Mar 2013 08:50 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The 2.5-liter turbocharged engine gets a horsepower and torque bump with the 2013 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design's Polestar limited-edition package. Audio quality from the premium stereo system is quite good. Bad: The handling of this performance variant isn't as sharp as I'd like. The navigation system and infotainment interface are complex and frustrating to use. Bottom Line: The 2013 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design is a fun and stylish little hatchback in its own right, but the performance, tech, and value of this Polestar limited edition all fall short of the competition. Mitsubishi HC7900DW DLP projector - 3D Posted: 21 Mar 2013 06:26 PM PDT Editor's Rating: User Rating: Good: The Mitsubishi HC7900DW projector can produce very good pictures in a dark room; exhibits deep-enough black levels and accurate color in bright areas; has lots of viable video-processing options; and its operation is quiet. Bad: More expensive than similarly performing projectors; relatively dim; black and near-dark areas are slightly green; must buy separate emitter for 3D; no 3D glasses included. Bottom Line: Although its dark-room picture quality rivals projectors near its price, the Mitsubishi HC7900DW's low light output contributes to making it a worse value. [Read more] |
