Good: The Sony KDL-32BX330 is a decent telly for the money with plenty of shadow detail and good off-axis response. Sony has a reputation for being expensive, but the BX300 is sensibly priced. Though styling is usually a problem for cheap TVs, the Sony looks quite attractive.
Bad: Color is a little off, with reds and greens a little unnatural. Blacks are fairly light and tend to be discolored. The feature count is minimal with only a 720p resolution, but its competitors at this price share a similar issue.
Bottom Line: If you're looking for a Sony for minimal cost, then the KDL-32BX330 is where it's at. But even at this budget price, there are better options. [Read more]

Good: The slim Acer Timeline U M5-481TG ultrabook combines Nvidia graphics, an optical drive, and plenty of extra features, including a backlit keyboard, in a shockingly affordable package.
Bad: A clean but generic design and its heavier weight make the U M5 feel less like an ultrabook and more like a regular mainstream laptop; the screen quality is mediocre, too.
Bottom Line: Yes, it's heavier than the average ultrabook, but if you're looking for an excellent value in a full-featured thin laptop, the Acer Timeline U M5 is hard to beat. [Read more]

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550 Convertible

Good: The 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550's V-8 Biturbo engine is powerful and smooth. Motoring with the top down is amazingly quiet and comfortable. A full array of media sources and a premium audio system are standard features.
Bad: Comand Online is almost unusably slow in its operation. The physical controller-based infotainment system takes a while to learn. Fuel economy is, predictably, low.
Bottom Line: The 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550 Roadster is an excellent luxury convertible that doesn't rely heavily on tech gimmickry; however, its new Comand Online system falls short of the bar set by Audi and BMW. [Read more]

Good: The Panasonic RP-HX40s are lightweight on-ear headphones that look fairly attractive (they come in multiple colors), are inexpensive, have a built-in microphone for making cell phone calls, and sound very good for their low price point.
Bad: The RP-HX40s feel like inexpensive headphones and aren't incredibly comfortable (they could use a bit of padding in the headband).
Bottom Line: Despite some shortcomings in the design and comfort department, the Panasonic RP-HX40s deliver impressive sound for the money and are a good value at around $20 online. [Read more]

Good: The big-screen Lenovo IdeaCentre A720 all-in-one boasts 10-point touch input and one of the most adjustable displays around.
Bad: With too few touch applications and weak core PC components, this system feels overpriced.
Bottom Line: The IdeaCentre A720 has some enticing touch capabilities and design elements, but not enough meat in its apps or its core features to justify its cost. [Read more]
