The optional hard-drive-based navigation system integrates traffic data, and the car's audio system produces crisp sound. Bad: With a range of 63 miles and shaky performance at freeway speeds, the i-Miev's utility is limited to cities and suburbs. The head unit shows no information about the electric drive system. Bottom Line: The 2012 Mitsubishi i-Miev will fit specific driving situations well, such as a 20-mile suburban commute, but above the base trim level its price comes too close to that of the more capable Nissan Leaf. The hard-drive-based navigation system features traffic, weather, and voice commands. Hands-free calling and rear-view camera are standard. The Bose audio system provides well-balanced sound. Bad: The additional performance looks good on paper, but doesn't translate into measurable improvements. The cabin can be quite loud at highway speeds. Bottom Line: Infiniti's first foray into the waters of high-performance variants with the 2012 IPL G Coupe is more of a tentative toe than a full-blown cannonball. [Read more] |
