Good: With a full 128GB SSD at a great price and a thin, light design, the Toshiba Portege Z830 is one of the best deals in Ultrabook-style laptops to date.
Bad: To cut costs, you get knocked down to a Core i3 CPU, and the shrimpy keyboard is tough to type on.
Bottom Line: Another entry in the MacBook Air clone wars, the Toshiba Portege Z830 offers great bang for the buck in some areas, but also looks and feels a bit cheap. [Read more]

Good: The Canon PowerShot Elph 510 HS is an attractive, easy-to-use snapshot camera with a nice wide, long lens, and plenty of shooting options, all in an ultracompact body.
Bad: The 510 HS's battery can be very short depending on the features you use and its shooting performance is a little behind that of competing models.
Bottom Line: The Canon PowerShot Elph 510 HS hits on design, features, and photo and video quality, but is slightly off target on shooting performance. [Read more]

Good: The Pantech Link II has a simple, user-friendly design with admirable call quality. The pop-up menu when making calls is fantastic.
Bad: The Pantech Link II has a flimsy plastic feel. Media features and the Web browser should be used only when necessary.
Bottom Line: With its great call quality and accessible design, the Pantech Link II is a great option for AT&T customers who don't need a workhorse of a cell phone. [Read more]

Good: The LG 47LV5500 displays accurate colors and is helped somewhat by the addition of a professional setup menu. The Smart TV interface and Magic Motion remote are currently the best such features on the market. Black levels and color accuracy are decent for the price.
Bad: The LG LV5500 series isn't able to dig as deep into the blacks as the comparable UND6400, and the local-dimming backlight can obscure shadow detail in complex scenes. The self-calibration system doesn't give you a better picture than the ISF mode.
Bottom Line: The LG 47LV5500 is a decent performer at its price level and features a great Smart TV package, but paying a little more for a different model would reap big rewards. [Read more]
