Good: The 2014 Buick Enclave AWD Premium's QuietTuning silences the cabin. The Premium trim level includes a respectable level of safety and tech amenities. Optional IntelliLink infotainment rolls an array of digital audio sources and smartphone app and integration.
Bad: The touch screen requires too much pressure to respond and the capacitive buttons surrounding it are inconsistent. The greater cabin materials feel more economy car than luxury ride.
Bottom Line: The smooth and quiet Buick Enclave Premium is well equipped with new tech and safety features, but doesn't feel as luxurious as its price tag indicates. [Read more]

Good: The 2014 Aston Martin Rapide S is one of the most gorgeous and enjoyable four-door cars on the planet. Its active suspension lets it switch between grand tourer and track monster at the push of a button, while its 550-horsepower V-12 delivers plenty of power.
Bad: The interior is almost totally lacking in modern tech niceties, and rear seating is cramped.
Bottom Line: It's a stunner of a car that happens to seat four, though its beautiful interior is in dire need of a high-tech makeover. [Read more]

Good: From engine to suspension, through the steering and differential, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray makes use of tech to enhance performance. The exterior design is breathtaking, and clever LCD instrumentation lets the driver customize information. The Bose audio system pumps the bass yet produces a clean sound.
Bad: The cabin tech interface was confusing, with convoluted means of accessing music libraries, audio sources, and map features. The Stingray wasn't well-suited for heavy traffic.
Bottom Line: Among the long line of Corvette models, the Stingray feels like something special, a thoroughbred sports car for the 21st century that must be put on the track to be really enjoyed. [Read more]

HP Spectre 13t-3000 Ultrabook

Good: The HP Spectre 13 has a sharp, thin, ultrabook design, high-end upgrade options, a great keyboard, and an extra-wide touch pad.
Bad: A handful of other premium ultrabooks offer better value. The extra "control zone" spaces on the touch pad don't feel like a fully realized concept.
Bottom Line: The HP Spectre 13 is an excellent all-around ultrabook, with a great keyboard, display, and battery life. The unique Control Zone touch pad is interesting, but I wish it were a little more useful and intuitive. [Read more]

Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition

Good: The Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition squeezes a stunningly bright, and colorful display, stock Android 4.4 KitKat, and a muscular processor into an extremely thin package. With sealed ports, the water-resistant Z Ultra needn't fear liquid or exposure to dirt and dust.
Bad: Even considering the Sony Z Ultra GPE's carrier-unsubsidized status, $649 is an exorbitant amount to pay. The Z Ultra's overblown size makes it unwieldy to operate and its camera is disappointing.
Bottom Line: The Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition's insanely large size and stratospheric price make the Nexus 5 and Note 3 better options for pure Android power. [Read more]
