Good: Cricket's Kyocera Kona has a compact design that's user-friendly, an intuitive interface, and it lets you hide certain contacts in your phone book.
Bad: The Kona is sluggish, and its camera not only takes poor photos, but it also lacks both a flash and video-recording capabilities.
Bottom Line: Though it's void of even midlevel features, the Kyocera Kona manages to be the best flip phone from Cricket. [Read more]

Good: The Seiki SE50UY04 is inexpensive for a TV with 4K/Ultra-High Definition resolution. Looks good from up close with 4K-compatible PC games; decent color accuracy; three HDMI inputs; simple styling and feature set.
Bad: Must sit close to the 50-inch screen to realize the benefit of 4K content; very little 4K content currently available; picture quality with non-4K content is worse than that of most other TVs in this price range, with light black levels, poor screen uniformity, and subpar video processing.
Bottom Line: Seiki's SE50UY04 can't compete with most standard HDTVs at this price in terms of picture quality, but at least it breaks new pricing ground for 4K resolution. [Read more]

Good: The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee features an excellent touch-screen interface for its cabin electronics, with navigation software from Garmin and an app store. Its air suspension gives it a comfortable ride, while four-wheel-drive systems give it strong off-road capability.
Bad: Touch-screen and voice command reaction time can be a little sluggish, and manual gear shifts from the eight-speed automatic are laggy.
Bottom Line: The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee bristles with tech that not only makes it a very comfortable and luxurious SUV, but a very capable off-road vehicle, as well. [Read more]

Pantech Perception (Verizon Wireless)

User Rating:
Good: Pantech's Perception has a nice big screen, a large battery, and a very reasonable price tag. I like its 'edgy' design.
Bad: Camera performance on the Perception faltered, and the phone didn't seem to channel Verizon's LTE network with maximum speed. Call quality underperformed.
Bottom Line: Consider the Pantech Perception if you're deciding among $100 smartphones, but you'll get more for your money with a discounted Samsung Galaxy S3 or other last-season phones. [Read more]
