Good: Sprint's rugged Sonim XP Strike includes basic Web features and push-to-talk Direct Connect.
Bad: The XP Strike charges through a 3.5mm jack, has a few design flaws, and takes terrible pictures, and its display collects moisture after a dunking.
Bottom Line: While the Sonim XP Strike is tough as nails, Sprint has other rugged devices that are better not only in performance, but in price too. [Read more]

Good: StumbleUpon for Android is just as good at recommending sites as its bigger, browser-based sibling. Its interface is slick and the StumbleDNA feature is neat.
Bad: You cannot comment on items or add items to lists from the Android app.
Bottom Line: StumbleUpon for Android is a worthwhile download for killing time and discovering new and interesting Web sites. [Read more]

Good: Lenovo takes its solid 14-inch ThinkPad X1 Carbon and upgrades it with Windows 8 and a touch screen, while keeping the excellent keyboard.
Bad: The touch screen makes the lid thicker, and the touch pad can be finicky at times.
Bottom Line: The business-oriented Lenovo ThinkPad X1 adds must-have features for 2013, and remains a very impressive business-oriented ultrabook with strong crossover appeal. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: Apple's attention to detail extends to the 21.5-inch version of its thin-looking Apple iMac.
Bad: Windows-based all-in-one PCs offer tough hardware competition in the sub-$1,400 price range.
Bottom Line: The 21.5-inch iMac will be a compelling lower-cost all-in-one for Mac loyalists, but you can get more capabilities from similarly priced Windows all-in-ones. [Read more]

Samsung Muse

User Rating:
Good: The Samsung Galaxy Muse is small, relatively affordable, and designed to pull music from a handful of Samsung smartphones without a computer intervening.
Bad: The controls are impossible to use by feel alone, and are often infuriating in even the best circumstances. The unique cables and adapters are easy to lose.
Bottom Line: The Samsung Galaxy Muse is quite possibly the most awkwardly designed MP3 player ever made. [Read more]
