Apple iPhone 4 free case antenna fix predicted by TechRepublic members Posted: 16 Jul 2010 11:42 AM PDT On Friday, Apple CEO Steven Jobs addressed the growing “antennagate” controversy surrounding the iPhone 4. In a nutshell, the company will give away a free case with every iPhone 4 purchased through September 30. Current iPhone 4 owners will be able to get a free case by registering through Apple’s website. And, those who already purchased a case will get a full refund for the price of the case. Apple has also released iOS 4.0.1, which reportedly fixes an issue where more signal strength bars were shown than should have been and an Exchange bug. Jobs recommend every iPhone 4 owner upgrade to the new version. Earlier this week, I asked TechRepublic members what they thought Apple would do to fix the iPhone 4’s antenna problems. The majority of those who took the quiz were right on the money. Of the 790 people who answered the poll question, 35 percent said that Apple would give out free cases.
