Good: The LG Spirit 4G has a big, vibrant screen and 4G LTE, and is one of the few Android 4.0 ICS handsets on MetroPCS.
Bad: The Spirit 4G's audio speaker is poor and I heard my voice echoing at times during calls.
Bottom Line: Despite its ho-hum call quality, the LG Spirit 4G is an affordable smartphone that performs reliably and runs Android 4.0. [Read more]

Dell Latitude 10 (64GB, Windows 8 Pro)

Good: The Dell Latitude 10 offers excellent battery life, and costs less than many other Windows 8 tablets.
Bad: With an Intel Atom processor, performance is limited, and some apps seem far better optimized for the hardware than others. Storage is limited to 64GB, and USB connections are all the slower 2.0 type.
Bottom Line: The price difference between an Atom tablet such as the Dell Latitude 10 and a Core i5 one doesn't seem large enough to justify the performance gap. But, the Latitude 10 makes up for it in part with a very long-lasting battery. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: The NuForce HP-800 offers a comfortable fit and strong sound for a relatively affordable price. It also sports full-size die-cast aluminum earcups and comes with two sets of user-replaceable cables.
Bad: Portability isn't a strong suit: the HP-800 is rather large and doesn't fold up (or fold flat). It also lacks an inline mic or phone controls.
Bottom Line: While it's less geared to mobile use, the $150 NuForce HP-800 is one of the better-sounding full-size headphones for the money. [Read more]

User Rating:
Good: PushBullet transmits items from desktop PC to Android device quickly and reliably. It makes use of the Android notification bar, and even lets you share devices with others so they can push items to you.
Bad: The PushBullet app cannot push items from an Android device to a desktop PC or another Android device. File transfers are limited to 10MB.
Bottom Line: PushBullet is the easiest way to get files, links, notes, lists, and addresses from your desktop computer to your Android device. [Read more]

Thirst (iOS)

User Rating:
Good: Thirst scours the Web to bring you a news digest that learns what you like and displays stories in an easy-to-read format. Social connections mean you can share or discuss stories with others.
Bad: There is no way to seek out other users that share your interests except by running across them in a discussion thread.
Bottom Line: Thirst is one of the best iOS apps I've seen yet for catching up on hot news topics by category, with a smart search algorithm that uses the power of the Web to bring stories to you. [Read more]

Western Digital TV Play

User Rating:
Good: The WD TV Play offers an improved interface and a greater selection of content than before. Setup is easy and the connection stayed solid during testing. The WD TV Play is one of the best values available in the market.
Bad: Missing some important apps, including Amazon Instant and live sports apps. The device couldn't playback all test videos despite listed compatibility. The gaming apps aren't very worthwhile.
Bottom Line: The WD TV Play is the best alternative to Roku and Apple TV for viewers looking to access their personal media collection. [Read more]
