Do you want to show your disdain for SOPA with your voting dollars? If so, you can boycott companies and products that support SOPA, using your Android device. Here's how:

First, make sure you have a bar code scanner like Google Goggles or ZXing installed, then install the Boycott SOPA app from the Android Market.

Next, launch the Boycott SOPA app and scan the bar code of the product you're interested in. After a few moments, the app will return with "Item OK" or "Bad Item." If the product isn't in the database, you may also get a message saying that the item was not found.

That's it. The developers are constantly updating the database of known SOPA supporters and are working on an update to allow you to contact companies directly from your Android device.

While this update is available and you might see the software update show up in Apple's Software Update utility if you have a Brother printer, if your printer is working fine then you might avoid this update for now. In many instances printer driver updates might fix some problems but introduce others for printers, so only apply this update if you have a notable feature that is either missing or not working on your printer.

If you have applied this or other printer updates and are now experiencing problems, try resetting the print system and reinstalling the printer driver. To do this, go to the Print & Fax system preferences and right-click (Control-click) the printer list. Select "Reset print system" from the contextual menu that appears, and then add your printer again. This ... [Read more]
