Five FireFox Add-ons for taking Web page screenshots Posted: 07 May 2010 08:36 PM PDT Taking Web page screenshots is a common task for IT professionals, developers, and even non-tech workers. And while there are plenty of stand-alone screenshot applications and even built-in OS tools, Firefox users have a third option-Add-ons. Here are five Firefox Add-ons that let you take, edit, and even share screenshots of a Web page. Note: Firefox and the following Add-ons are continuously updated. Check the developer comments on each plugin’s Mozilla Web page to ensure it will work with your version of Firefox. ScreengrabScreengrab is the most popular Firefox screenshot plugin with 25,379 weekly downloads as of this writing. It allows you to capture what’s visible in the current browser window, an entire page, a section of the page, or a specific frame. You can save the image as a JPEG or PNG file or copy it to the clipboard. Screengrab doesn’t have many options, but it gets the job done. Note: Click each image for a full-size version. |
